Our Story
RunwayModeler was born from a simple frustration: spreadsheets lie. They give you a single number—"16.2 months of runway"—when reality is far more uncertain.
As founders ourselves, we've sat in board meetings explaining why our "18-month runway" became 12 months when hiring took longer, revenue grew slower, and unexpected costs appeared. We knew there had to be a better way.
Drawing on techniques from actuarial science and Bayesian statistics, we built RunwayModeler to show founders the truth: your runway isn't a number, it's a distribution. And understanding that distribution is the key to making better decisions.
